Hi
We have 38 new people who have joined this VIP mailing list (81 people in total, hello). Welcome.
Some news:
- Plakkit posters - next week, I start my first advertising campaign for my wedding work. Keep an eye out for the 14 posters, like the one attached, popping up around northside, Richmond and the inner-city.
- Patagonia print series - I sat on my Patagonia work for some time, thinking about what aspect of this trip stood out to me and what prints I wanted to create. This forthcoming fine art series is an exciting departure from my previous approach of focusing on people and spaces. I am also working closely with Tim (Thirds, my printer) and Jasna (Holbrook Workshop, my framer) to re-think how I physically present the framed works. See a photo of some test prints attached. I will release this series in late November / early December.
- Europe - Katherine and my recent trip to Europe was a real adventure (including multiple mis-adventures, such as misplacing our passports on a train, forgetting my cameras on a plane, and jeopardising my otherwise perfect Airbnb rating). I didn’t think Austria would be so interesting to photograph (see attached, an Austrian hillside church surrounded by horses). Amsterdam was similarly beautiful, so was Sean and Lucie’s wedding. See my photo journal and write-up of Dekmantel for Phelt magazine, here. The briefs I shot for GW Studio and Sunset Daze - mentioned in the previous newsletter - are here.
That’s it. Thank you.
Kind regards
Tom

Hello
I created a mailing list to provide friends with small photograpy-related updates every now and then. There are currently 43 people on the list (including my mum). So, consider yourself a VIP.
Some news:
- Molto Bene + 1 - this evening, I am releasing the first of three additional prints in the Molto Bene series; one per week, limited to editions of three for each print. I've attached a sneak peek of some in-situ photos taken at Holbrook Workshop (thanks Jasna). Print sales have been slow - I think everyone's feeling the cost of living pressure and this series sits at a higher price point compared with older pieces. I'm trying to keep up momentum and interest, borrowing from Libby Haines' approach to using Instagram to sell her work. It's always difficult to gauge price points and people's interest with prints and art!
- Weddings - Katherine and I head to Europe later this month (I know, spoilt). We're going to Dekmantel, then driving through Germany and Austria before photographing Sean and Lucie's wedding in Brussels. I'll release an updated wedding catalogue and price index shortly afterwards. Upcoming weddings include Ellie and Grant's in December (at my dream venue to shoot, but it's a secret for now) and Corrina and Tom's in Greece, June 2025.
- Patagonia - was unreal. I shot the trip entirely digitally for the first time, as film's become so expensive - it's around $60 to buy and develop each roll, at least when shooting professional stock. There's also no way of mitigating the risk of airport scanners damaging rolls of film at the moment. I'll eventually create a limited body of work focusing on terrain and colour, after some more research. I've attached a B&W photo taken during a 26km hike on one of the last days.
Otherwise, I'm currently working on a really fun brief for a friend (Shannon, DJ, AKA The Real Craig David) and I'm trying to extend my portfolio to include more retail work. I recently shot some work for House of Darwin (attached) through my friend, Jack, and will photograph some of Gem Watkins' beautiful jewellery (@gw.studio) with Katherine while we're in Austria.
That's it. Thank you.
Kind regards
Tom
